This photo was taken in
the ground floor kitchen area of my grandparents house on Adams
Street in the Bronx, NYC. The house was three stories high
and my grandparents used the top for residence and rented the
middle (main) floor. The ground floor had an attached
railroad style wine cellar and general purpose cooler, (hanging
deer, apples, etc.) as well as a large kitchen (to their right)
for preparation, processing, and storage. The person taking
the photo was standing in front of the doorway to the garden and
next to a large freezer. |
