This is both sides of a cancelled passport that was issued to my mother, Gladys, and her brother, Robert Cecil Saunderson, for their voyage to the U.S. My Uncle Norman was less than a year old, so he was included somewhere on my grandmothers passport, or just didn't need one. Note the date 30 Apr 1924. My mother was to turn eight years old on May 17th. of that year. They arrived in 1925 on the Franconia, two years after Fred. The Ellis Island records show they had visas dated June 27, 1925, issued in Newcastle, UK, and health certificates signed September 12, 1925. Their manifest numbers on the Franconia: Mabel b.11/08/1894 #8, Gladys b. 5/17/1916 #9, Robert Cecil #10, and Norman #11. Ellis Island Records: Norman, Robert Cecil, Gladys, Mabel, Fred.
