This is my mother's
youngest brother, Norman, feeding my brother, Henry Jr. sometime in
1942. It was before Norman went into the Navy. My brother looks
like he'll have nothing to do with it! He worked as a pressman for the Bronx Home News, Daily News, and Variety. He retired many years ago, and lived in Paramus, NJ with his wife Isobel. This is where they raise two sons, Eric and Billy, and a daughter, Valerie Norman died of lung cancer on January 9, 2003. He had problems with circulation in his legs and feet which were attributed to clots. During the tests they found the lung cancer. He had had a stroke a couple of years ago. He had been a smoker in his younger years, and the work as a pressman exposed him to various chemicals. When he first got married, He and Isobel lived in the same apartment building as we did (1903 Radcliff Ave, in the Morris Park section of the Bronx.) You could see my Grandparent's (Saunderson) apartment on Bogart Ave from their apartment. When we moved to Bantam Place and they to Paramus, we saw each other on few occasions. This I regret. |
