This photo was taken outside the apartment building that Robert Cecil and 'the not yet totally complete' family lived in- in the Bronx.

This was the last home they lived in to be made of brick and mortar.

This is a good opportunity to inject an anecdote that has been one of my fond memories relating to visits to my aunt and uncle's homes:

Very early in one of the family's moves; it may be their first out of the city; this house they were in had a porch that we were standing on., My uncle Cecil wanted to show us the new puppy they got: It was a Bloodhound named “Sniffles”. It was a nice day and Sniffles responded to a whistle- as he was outside with the young children. So this puppy, rather large, comes running- ears flopping with each bound the dog makes. He gets to the two or three stairs that need to be negotiated; but tripped over his own feet, and comes sliding to a halt in front of us on his chin. Quite the entrance!

I believe it was the Saunderson influence on my whole family included animals; dogs especially. My father never related stories of having a dog; but did tell of my mother having a Cocker Spaniel named “Blackie” before they were married; which after bitting my father, required him getting thirteen, rather painful, Rabies injections into his stomach. So, I am surprised my brother and I are here...

Except for Linda and I, and our need for air travel, we have been for too long a while, the only dog-less ones in the family. We do enjoy our dog-fix when visiting; but miss having our dogs around- immensely.
