The
occasion was my Confirmation. This
was taken in my Aunt Betty and Uncle Alex's back yard of their
home on Seminole Avenue, in the Bronx. The roses behind my
father and I, always made me sneeze. My aunt and uncle also
had a cat which did the same. Going to their house was
always a bittersweet affair. I enjoyed, on many occasions,
sleeping there overnight. It always seemed to coincide with
the "Bell Science Hour" on TV (which was a relatively
new innovation for us, at the time). I would have a bed
made in my aunt's sewing room, and a TV was there for my use.
Breakfast was always fried eggs and rye bread, which was fine
with me. There was no bad way to have an egg.
