It is the time for an intro of my best friend, Al, “Uncle Albie” to our children.

Since he and I met [he was hanging out on a Bronx corner singing with the other members of his “A cappella” group], we became good friends.

He lie about being almost blind in one eye when he joined the Army and became a member of the 101st Airborne. [He confused the doctor giving the eye exam and did the good eye twice!]

He also liked nothing better than jumping out of mechanically perfect aircraft. He did many exhibition parachute jumps at West Point Military Academy.

In all the years we've known each other, we've been there for each other. Our love of cars, oldies music, and our families, kept us on the same page all these years. We were there when all of our children were born and he spent every weekend at our home with them early on, so the children are family to each other.

He has lived in Florida for many years and we don't see each other often; but we talk on the phone at least once a week.
